Pet Travel

Whether you're flying internationally, heading across the U.S., or road-tripping with your pet, most destinations require an official health certificate. Ingleside Animal Hospital offers expert support and USDA-accredited documentation to ensure your pet is cleared for takeoff, with no surprises.

Now Accepting New and Existing Clients

You don't have to be an established client to use this service. We welcome new patients for travel certificate appointments. Early planning is key, so reach out as soon as travel is on your radar.

What's Included in a Pet Travel Certificate?

Each certificate begins with a full physical exam by a licensed veterinarian. From there, we tailor the process to your travel destination. Some require additional steps such as:

  • Vaccine review and administration
  • Rabies vaccination (with timing and documentation)
  • Lab testing (when required by the destination county)
  • Multiple visits to meet strict international protocolsPlane over globe

We walk you through every step of the process.

What to Bring to Your Appointment

To help us prepare your certificate accurately and efficiently, please bring:

  • All flight information, including dates, layovers, and destination
  • Your pet's medical records, especially vaccine history
  • Any documentation from other veterinary offices
  • Your pet — who must be up to date on all required vaccines

When to Schedule

Do not wait. Many destinations have strict timelines and multi-step requirements. We recommend contacting us as soon as you begin planning travel with your pet — even if your trip is months away.

Key Timing Guidelines:

  • All certificates must be finalized within 10 days of travel
  • Some international destinations require steps that begin weeks or months in advance.
  • Re-entry into the U.S. has new rules for dogs (see below)
