The Ingleside Animal Hospital team recently attended the Midwestern University Veterinary Career Fair, where we had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with first- through fourth-year veterinary students who share our passion for compassionate, high-quality animal care.
Our conversations centered around Ingleside’s commitment to mentorship, professional growth, and lifelong learning. We were thrilled to introduce students to several of our unique development programs designed to support every stage of their journey into veterinary medicine:
🐾 DVM Student Summer Shadow Program
An exclusive opportunity for five veterinary students each summer to spend one day a week shadowing our doctors and learning what real-world veterinary medicine looks like in a thriving small animal hospital.
📘 NAVLE Study Externship Program
For students who need extra time or support to successfully pass the NAVLE, we offer a special externship that allows them to gain valuable hands-on experience while focusing on exam preparation. Our goal is to help promising future veterinarians build confidence — not just in testing, but in clinical application.
🩺 New Graduate Mentorship Program
Once students graduate, our structured mentorship program ensures a smooth transition from classroom to clinic. New doctors are paired with experienced DVM mentors for guided learning, surgical and medical case support, and regular progress feedback.
At Ingleside Animal Hospital, we believe education doesn’t end with graduation — it grows with every patient, every mentor, and every moment of care. We’re proud to invest in the next generation of veterinarians who will continue to elevate the standards of our profession.

Together, we’re shaping the future of veterinary medicine — one student at a time.
