Did you know the leading reason that dogs end up in shelters are for behavioral issues? Did you also know most behavioral problems could be avoided with training?

The staff at Ingleside Animal Hospital is committed to providing high quality animal health care. As part of this commitment, we offer convenient and affordable group obedience classes for dogs over 12 weeks of age.

Ingleside Animal Hospital offers two types of group training classes - Basic I and Basic II. All class sizes are small, usually between 4-8 students. Training is held at St. Theresa's Catholic Church located at 48th Street and Thomas. The training location is outdoors.

Basic II - AKC Canine Good Citizen Course
This class is for dogs over 5 months of age who already have a good grasp of basic commands. This class runs 7 or 8 weeks for a total of 9 hours of instruction. An addition day at the end of the course is required for certification testing. This class is designed to move dogs to the next level of training after Basic I, prepare students who are interested in obtaining an AKC CGC (Canine Good Citizen) certification, and for students who are planning to involve their pets in Pet Assistance Therapy. We cover the following skills: All basic skills with added distractions; All basic commands in public situations; Sitting politely for petting; Greeting a friendly stranger; Greeting another leashed dog; Off leash Stay, Off leash Come, and Out of Sight for 3 minutes.
